Fun Ways to Celebrate Valentine’s Day & the Month of February

During the month of February, you can make learning fun using a variety of games and activities for kids. Choose from simple crafts, stations, partner games, celebrations, and morning worksheets.

Here are some great ideas to get you started:

Make and Give Cards – Set up a writing station with red, purple, and pink paper, stickers, and writing materials. Let the kids get creative by cutting, pasting, and writing love letters and cards to family and friends.

Create Valentine’s Day Mailboxes – Before Valentine’ day, invite students to create their own mailbox to receive their Valentines. Use brown paper bags, shoeboxes, or another large container. Have them decorate with paper, marker, paint, and glitter (if you dare).

Create Heart Pockets – These cute, simple heart pockets will hold small Valentine’s cards that students pass out. You can make them as large or small as you’d like, and the materials needed are most likely already at your school! All you need is paper, a hole puncher, and some yarn.

Have a party – If your school allows, throw a Valentine’s Day party! Ask parents to donate fun snacks and volunteer during centers or rotations. Let students pass out their treats and participate in some fun games. Look below for ideas!

Valentine’s Day Books – Books are a must for every holiday! Here are some great children’s book titles we love to read in February.
