It’s perfect for kids of all ages because there are 4 different versions included in the free printable. These options make differentiation easier for your learners.

How to Play Valentine’s Day I Spy

This game is extremely easy to play. That’s why I love using it as a teaching medium. There are also many benefits of playing I Spy with kids, like improved vocabulary, visual discrimination, and increased awareness of their surroundings. This game even helps adults to be more mindful!

All you need to do is print out these Valentine’s Day printables and let the kids count how many of each picture they can see. There are boxes for them to write down the number.

Tip: Younger kids can mark each image as they count them.

Supplies:

• Cardstock or white paper. Cardstock is more durable and always my top pick.
• Scissors. I love kid-friendly scissors because they make crafts stress-free.
• Glue.
• Pen, pencil, or markers. You’ll need these if you opt for the black-and-white templates.

Your free PDF file and answer keys include both color and black and white copies each. Both options are provided because, depending on your/your kids’ preferences, you may want them just to find the items and color them in, or to find and count them each.

I usually split the activity between coloring and counting and have my kids work on both, just on separate days. This means the activity can target both fine motor skills development and counting skills.

You can laminate these Valentine I Spy games to make them last longer, or you can slip them into dry-erase pockets and use reusable markers!
